REBUILDING HAITI

Although some of the chaos and madness brought about by the earthquake in early January is decreasing, the long term rebuilding of Haiti is only just beginning. Our project partners near Port au Prince informed us that although some buildings were severely damaged we were fortunate not to suffer any loss of life.

NOW, with our partners, CHRF sets out on the long term rebuilding process to get Haiti back on its feet. The first step will be getting a safe place for orphans and homeless children to stay. Next, CHRF has bought a block making machine so that together we can rebuild hundreds of houses for families who are currently homeless after losing their homes in the earthquake.

This block making machine will not only benefit many families by giving them homes but also create a whole set of new jobs for the local community. The projects that we are working with in Haiti will incorporate the block making machine into the brand new trade school.
